Nick has been writing professionally for 15 years, and has covered pretty much every beat, including news, tech, travel, entertainment, and of course, sports. Those last two are his favorites, so being Peacock’s resident sportswriter is pretty much perfect. He got his start at internet culture and humor network Cheezburger where he developed and edited the science fiction and fantasy meme site Set Phasers to LOL. Since then, he’s written and edited news and culture stories for MSN, Google, The New York Observer, and was the primary entertainment writer for Geek.com from 2016 to 2020. There, he wrote regular TV recaps, news blogs, and interviews with people like William Shatner, Tommy Wiseau, John C. McGinley, and more. He also wrote on four music parody videos for The Key of Awesome.
Nick holds a B.A. from Western Washington University in Theatre and English, which makes it surprising to some that he is a massive sports fan. He will get all the way into any sport you put in front of him but holds a special place in his heart for the Seattle Seahawks, the Seattle Mariners, and is forever blowing bubbles for West Ham United.
When he’s not writing about sports (or watching them), he enjoys rollerblading through the streets of New York City and getting lost in a video game. Current favorites include the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, Xenoblade Chronicles, and the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. Somewhere in there, he finds time for TV. His current favorites are The White Lotus, Dimension 20, Severance, and Poker Face, which he would list even if he didn’t work here. All-time favorites include Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Eureka, and Fringe. He is originally from Seattle and lives in New York.
