In La Brea,Season 1 we meet the Harris family: mom Eve, dad Gavin, and kids Josh and Izzy, who are separated as they attempt to escape a huge sinkhole that forms in the middle of Los Angeles. In the sinkhole, mom and son are transported into what appears to be a pre-historic Los Angeles inhabited by dinosaurs. At the same time, dad and daughter are left to play detective and anthropologist to unravel the mystery. In Season 2, we discover that the sinkholes resulted from the Lazarus Project, which is headed by people from 2076 who are studying de-extinction and trying to figure out how to deal with the limited resources of their era.
The end of La Brea Season 2 left us on a tense cliffhanger. Caroline was murdered, Eve discovered a journal that could stop the sinkholes (but requires a machine built in prehistoric times), Ty’s life-threatening illness forced a dangerous search for a cure and enemies plus dinosaurs ran rampant. And that was just life in 10,000 B.C.!
In the present day, a murder investigation uncovered secrets about Lazarus Tower, multiple portals abounded, and time travel could easily be manipulated, as Eve and Izzy proved by jumping back in time to save Gavin. You can relive all these “oh snap!” moments from Seasons 1 and 2 on Peacock.
