Go Inside the Worlds of Epic Universe in New NBC Special

Embark on a spectacular adventure with Inside the Worlds of Epic Universe, a new one-hour NBC special premiering Wednesday, Aug 20 at 9p ET/PT. The special will be available to stream next day on Peacock. 

Joe Manganiello (Deal or No Deal Island) hosts the special, which celebrates the opening of Universal Orlando Resort’s Universal Epic Universe theme park. As Manganiello explores the park for the first time, viewers will be able to join in on the journey to the five immersive worlds: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe.  

Audiences will get unprecedented access to the park's rides, state-of-the-art attractions, cutting-edge technology, and environmental experiences that bring the park’s storytelling and characters to life. 

Special on-the-ground appearances from Bowen Yang (Wicked, Saturday Night Live), Matt Rogers (Las Culturistas), Mason Thames (How to Train Your Dragon), Nico Parker (How to Train Your Dragon), and Warwick Davis (Harry Potter series) add a fun touch as they explore the park and uncover the secrets behind each world’s creation.  

Interviews with Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World), Michelle Yeoh (Wicked), Vin Diesel (Fast & Furious Saga), and Jon M. Chu (Wicked) will also be featured throughout the special. 

Legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg, who is a Universal Destinations and Experiences creative consultant, will also be featured in the special with an extended interview offering insight into the creativity and artistry that makes Universal Epic Universe stand out. Since coining the phrase, “Ride the movies,” more than three decades ago, Spielberg’s motto continues to be celebrated today through many of the immersive attractions at the park. 

Inside the Worlds of Epic Universe isn’t the only treat on tap. Look forward to the three-part docuseries, Epic Ride: The Story of Universal Theme Parks, which will stream exclusively on Peacock later this year.  

The docuseries will look at the history and legacy of Universal Destinations & Experiences. Through unprecedented access, rare archival and intimate interviews with directors, producers, executives, and A-list celebrities, it will explore Universal's iconic film and theme park history as well as provide an exclusive behind-the-scenes countdown to the opening of its groundbreaking new theme park, Universal Epic Universe.
