The reality series is centered on music icons Nelly and Ashanti, along with their family members, colleagues, and collaborators.

The couple has four Grammys between them; Nelly is a three-time Grammy winner thanks to classic 2000s hip-hop hits like "Shake Ya Tailfeather" and "Hot In Herre," while Ashanti earned a Grammy in 2023 for Best Contemporary R&B Album for her self-titled debut studio album. In a 2025 interview ahead of Season 1, Nelly revealed that he was the one who initially "brought" the idea of cameras capturing the intimate moments of their lives to Ashanti.

They've allowed us to live this wonderful life of ours, and I just thought them getting a different side of seeing basically who we are, outside of what it is that we do, [would be interesting]."
