The new Peacock Original crime drama series M.I.A. sees Etta Tiger Jonze (Shannon Gisela) bearing witness to violence firsthand as her family falls victim in bloody fashion to a drug cartel run by Rojas family.
After the life-changing event, Etta sets out on a dangerous journey from the Florida Keys through Miami’s neon-lit underbelly that will define who she is and what she’s ultimately capable of.

From Ozark co-creator Bill Dubuque, with Karen Campbell serving as showrunner, M.I.A. is a binge drop series, with all nine episodes dropping on Peacock on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

The cast of Peacock's M.I.A.
Shannon Gisela as Etta Tiger Jonze
Shannon Gisela has something in common with her M.I.A. character, Etta Tiger Jonze, in that they're both South Florida natives. Gisela's prowess with improvisation led to her winning a 2024 UCB x SNL scholarship, an honor bestowed on her thanks to a partnership between the Upright Citizens Brigade and Saturday Night Live. Gisela's work has been seen in projects premiering at film festivals from Sundance to SXSW. M.I.A. marks her first leading role in a series.
Gisela's Etta grew up living the good life along the water in the Florida Keys. She has a sharp intellect and wry sense of humor and is searching for more in life when tragedy befalls her family. Armed with a skill set that lets her remember and process nearly everything she's seen and heard, Etta embarks on a mission of vengeance to get back at those who killed her family. She picks up some endearing friends along the way.
Cary Elwes as Kincaid
A fan favorite since playing Westley in The Princess Bride (1987), English actor Cary Elwes followed up that career-making role up with parts in films like Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Glory, Days of Thunder, Twister, Saw, Ella Enchanted and many, many more. As for recent projects, Elwes appeared in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning and as the mayor in Stranger Things.

In M.I.A., Elwes stars as private investigator Kincaid, who's looking into the murders of Etta's family and has a hunch that she survived the brutal attack.
Danay Garcia as Leah
Born in Cuba, Danay Garcia is well-known to many for playing Sofia Lugo in Prison Break and Luciana on Fear the Walking Dead, two shows that she was a series regular on. In addition to acting, Garcia is also a writer, producer and director, and has starred in films including the action movie Sniper: Ultimate Kill (2017) and Liz in September (2014).
In M.I.A., Garcia plays Etta's protective mother, Leah, and there are plenty of twists to come involving the character.
Brittany Adebumola as Lovely
Actress Brittany Adebumola grew up in Florida and in Brooklyn, New York, where she took after-school theater classes during high school. She earned a BFA in acting from Syracuse University, and her first role was as Tamika Jones in the drama series Grand Army. Adebumola also had a leading role in the 2020 reboot of the sci-fi drama series 4400, and in The Other Black Girl.

Adebumola plays Lovely in M.I.A., a Haitian American who ends up helping Etta in more ways than one. Lovely is described in the show's production notes as having a huge heart and as someone who can love and accept nearly anyone. Lovely and Etta become fast friends.
Dylan Jackson as Stanley
Another South Florida native in the M.I.A. cast, Dylan Jackson is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama. Jackson's TV credits include City on Fire and Godfather of Harlem, and he also appeared in the 2025 indie film Floating Carousel.
In M.I.A., Jackson plays Lovely's cousin, Stanley. The character has high-functioning autism, which makes him unable to pick up on certain social cues. He is close with Lovely and has a deep love for Yacht Rock, an interest that helps Etta bond with him.
Alberto Guerra as Elias
Cuban actor Alberto Guerra has appeared in many Spanish-language series and films since 2002. He's had roles in series including Narcos: Mexico and he played Darío in the biographical crime drama miniseries, Griselda.
In M.I.A., Guerra plays Elias, an enforcer who has worked for the Rojas family for years. Elias is dealing with grief and is trying to make sure there are no loose ends in the wake of the murders of Etta's family.
Maurice Compte as Mateo
Maurice Compte is a character actor who is a familiar face on both the big and small screens. He’s had recurring roles in Breaking Bad, Narcos, Mayans M.C., In the Dark, Power, and played Mike Duarte in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In the summer of 2026, he will appear in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.

Compte's Mateo Rojas in M.I.A. is dealing with the repercussions of his family’s violent decisions. He'll have to navigate them alongside his brother Samuel Rojas, and their half-sister Caroline.
Gerardo Celasco as Samuel
Gerardo Celasco was born in Miami and raised in his parents' native El Salvador. At the start of his career, he had a role on the NBC soap, Passions. Since then, Celasco has had guest roles in series like How to Get Away with Murder and Next. His film credits include the 2011 biographical baseball drama, Moneyball.
In M.I.A., Celasco plays Samuel, who works with his brother Mateo as they deal with some shakeups in their family's business when a rival gang encroaches on their territory. They'll also have to hire new drug runners to replace the Jonze family, whom they killed.
Marta Milans as Caroline
Marta Milans has dozens of TV and film credits, ranging from shows like White Lines, Killer Women, and No Tomorrow to films including Shazam! and Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
In M.I.A., Milans plays Caroline, the half-sister of Mateo and Samuel, who are all struggling with their conflicting agendas in the wake of their father’s death.
