In the second season of The Paper, Lisa the HR rep is played by Lisa Gilroy.
The 36-year-old Canadian-born comedic actress is best known for her appearances in the Dropout social media comedy series as well as her roles in films like Super Troopers 3 (2026) and TV shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Shrinking, and Peacock's Twisted Metal.
In a September 2026 virtual roundtable interview with The Direct featuring some of the cast of The Paper, Gilroy earned rave reviews for her performances all season long.
"Lisa just goes," Domhnall Gleeson explained. "They call action and she just goes. And all of it is funny."
The Paper writer and star Eric Rahill shared similar praise.
"She's so funny," he said. "She's really, really good at improv, and I think it's kind of fun to let her come in and just go off. Because they would get a few on script, and then I think with Lisa in particular, they were just like, 'Whatever you want to do, go for it.' And it was just so funny."

Lisa is everything Scranton's resident HR rep Toby (Paul Lieberstein) wasn't.
