A four-time Olympic gold medalist, Murphy has been named one of four captains on the U.S. Olympic swim team in Paris. He competes in the 100m and 200m backstroke events.
Katie Ledecky
Swimming
One of the most decorated female swimmers of all time, Katie Ledecky won her first gold medal in 2012 in the 800m freestyle. She has since earned six more gold medals and has won four individual distance events from 200m to 1500m.
Regan Smith
Swimming
Team USA backstroke and butterfly star Regan Smith made her Olympic debut in Tokyo. There, she won medals in the 200m butterfly (silver), 100m backstroke (bronze) and 4x100m medley relay (bronze).
