What is the Big Ten?

It comprises some of the biggest schools in college sports: Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Maryland, Michigan State, Indiana, Rutgers, Purdue, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Northwestern, as well as Notre Dame’s men’s ice hockey and Johns Hopkins’ men’s lacrosse teams. These schools are split into two divisions—East and West—with the top teams from each division playing against each other in the conference championship. In the East, there’s Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Maryland, Michigan State, Indiana, and Rutgers; in the West, there’s Purdue, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Northwestern.
