Married at First Sight Season 20's honeymoons, recapped

While the scenic beaches and thrilling dates deliver the fun, the honeymoon getaway marked the first time this season's MAFS couples got to discuss the high-brow topics typically covered while dating. No MAFS honeymoon would be complete without a mix of romance, awkward vulnerability, and several bumps in the road. And we're not just talking about snoring.

Shawn Best and Nikki Jefferson struggled throughout their honeymoon. A poolside conversation went poorly after Nikki felt Shawn was interviewing her. Later, Shawn was frustrated with how disastrous their video diary went after Nikki expressed her disinterest in getting intimate until the experiment ended. Eventually, Nikki admitted she wasn't sexually attracted to him, leading to some increased tension.

Michelle Le and Cameron Mitchell had some deep conversations about Michelle's health journey and Cameron being open to adoption. The couple also discussed Cameron's fear of commitment and choice to embark on the experiment. While Michelle admitted they were taking "baby steps" during their honeymoon, the trip only cemented their connection.

Adam Dehmlow and Marissa Meyer had the most traditional of honeymoon experiences, enjoying a steamy night together and enjoying their time with each other and the other couples. During a romantic dinner together, Adam told Marissa that he felt they didn't just have a "spark," but a "fire."

Mecca Amen and BelléJolie Force had a blast on their honeymoon, sharing a romantic kiss on a boat and having great chats together. BelléJolie even got the chance to wear matching outfits with her man! While one conversation about attraction got awkward, the couple got much closer during the trip.

After taking a plunge in a cenote, Devin Short and Caitlin Grimm got steamy on the first night and enjoyed some great early conversations together. However, the closed quarters of the honeymoon led Caitlin to struggle with a lack of alone time and the inauthentic nature of their connection. Meanwhile, Devin had a tough time trying to not overthink Caitlin's need for a bit of solitude. Caitlin struggled to feel she could give Devin what he needed in a relationship, leading them to pack their bags while looking forward to a future chat with the experts, Paul C. Brunson and Dr. Lisa Paz.

Nick Uhlenhuth and Courteney Landis initially struggled to entertain themselves, leading their alone time to be pretty awkward. Courteney struggled to feel chemistry, comparing the trip to a quarantine due to the lack of playful banter or fun with her man. Nick remained hopeful they'd get closer, and after bringing up their lack of intimacy, Courteney admitted she'd be a "slow burn" to get close with. After a successful date on a boat, they had a much-needed breakthrough.

Felipe Cruz and Tori Dahl enjoyed their extended alone time together, enjoying several swoon-worthy dates and outings during their time in Mexico. Early into the trip, Felipe broached the uncomfortable subject of previous infidelity, and the couple discussed loyalty within a marriage. The chemistry between the pair was flying off on all cylinders, signs of a promising connection.
