Ashley, age 12, is the youngest of the Banks siblings and the most grounded and politically minded of the three. She’s kind and independent, with a rebellious spirit. Wrestling with identity issues and trying to find her place in the world, Ashley desires to break out of the stuffy Bel-Air bubble.

From an early age, Akira Akbar would often sing and dance for the customers at her mother’s hair salon, solidifying her love for performing. One of her mother’s clients suggested she attend a commercial audition; she booked the role and ignited her passion for the arts. She has had roles on a slew of hit television shows, including Freeform's "Good Trouble" in the recurring role of 'Kiara,' Netflix’s “Family Reunion” in the recurring role of ‘Brooke’ and “This Is Us” as ‘Young Beth.’ Her credits also include a stint on “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Criminal Minds.” Much like the characters she portrays, she hopes to inspire other young girls to be the most powerful and authentic versions of themselves.
