This Banished Player Admits They Went "Too Far" at The Traitors Roundtable (RECAP)
Two The Traitors players got into a war of words at the Roundtable that ended with one of them Banished.
SPOILER WARNING: This story reveals major plot points from Episodes 1-5 of The Traitors Season 4.
Fiery Elimination Roundtables are nothing new on The Traitors (now streaming on Peacock). But Episode 5's face off between two particular players is going to be forever remembered as arguably one of the most contentious on the show.
In "If You're Gonna Come For Me, I'll Finish You," the air was already fraught for the player walking into the Elimination Roundtable. Colton Underwood was still smarting from his incorrect whipping of votes around Faithful but Banished Tiffany Mitchell. However, he was strident in trying again tonight about exposing Michael Rapaport as a Traitor. But Michael got wind and was fuming.

Needless to say, emotions were high heading into the vote. Read below to see just how intense it got between them.
What ignited the personal beef between Colton Underwood and Michael Rapaport?
As soon as host Alan Cumming opened the floor for debate, Candiace Dillard Bassett lit the proverbial match by asking anyone to explain Rapaport's yelling earlier in the day. Michael was quick to pounce on Colton and start a passionate defense of his Faithful status, defending Tiffany who Colton led the charge on Banishing the night before.
"The person that put her under fire was conniving, commiserating Colton," Michael levied at the room. "This man is responsible for chirping in everybody's ear about Tiffany. And this man, after the challenge today, was openly in my face, questioning me. And then when I walked away, he said my name out loud to a group of people, holding court, and this man should be keeping his mouth shut. Because last night, this man organized, colluded to get rid of a good Faithful. I'm angry, I'm p****d off, and I am isolated because of him. Him! And nobody in this room would be better at holding a secret than you."

Michael's passionate argument was actually working until the room turned cold at his statement about Colton's familiarity with holding a secret. Having just publicly addressed his 2021 coming out as gay that morning at breakfast, Colton was immediately offended by Michael's phrasing and called him on it.
"There it is. There it is," Colton said with distaste. "You think it was fun for 29 years of my life?"
Michael tried to clarify, "Oh, no, no, no, no, no. There's nothing to do with it. I think you came into this game loving the idea of being a Traitor."
From there, Johnny Weir, Maura Higgins and Lisa Rinna communicated the reception of Michael's words was hurtful and per Maura, "A low blow."
Michael read the room and offered, "I apologize if he took it that way." But the damage was done.
Many others then made the argument that Michael was constantly pulling focus from real Traitor debate and that he had exhausted them into not caring if he was a Traitor or Faithful, so he had to go.
What did Michael Rapaport have to say about his Banishment?
In the final vote, Ron Funches received a few votes, but the overwhelming majority Banished Michael Rapaport.
When Alan asked him to reveal his status, Michael said, "You voted out the best-looking, smartest, dopest... Faithful."
Later on in his personal confessional, Michael reflected, "I was backed into a corner and I tried to fight my way out of it. Maybe I fought too hard. I meant what I meant within the context of the game. It had nothing to do with his sexuality. I really, sincerely apologize if I offended Colton or anybody in the house. That absolutely wasn't my intention. I'm a fan of the game. I played hard and you know, I played a good game, except for when it went a little too far, which sucks."
News episodes of The Traitors Season 4 air Thursdays exclusively on Peacock.
