Simu Liu is full of surprises.
The star of the Peacock thriller series The Copenhagen Test appeared on an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show that aired on February 2, 2026, where he showed off a talent few knew he had — some serious singing chops.
Taking part in the "Cameo-oke" segment of the daytime talk show, the 36-year-old actor stunned the live audience — and viewers — by delivering an unreal live performance of Benson Boone's 2022 song, "In The Stars."

Possessing superb tone, Liu relied on his crystal-clear vocals to wow the crowd. "In The Stars" is a ballad that requires passion — and that's exactly what Liu brought.
Even Benson Boone himself would be proud.
"You sing so well," Clarkson — who announced Monday that she was stepping away from her talk show after the current Season 7 so that she could prioritize her two children — told Liu during their sit-down conversation.
"That's way too kind — that's very high praise," Liu said before revealing that he chose that particular song to sing because it "is so beautiful."

Unsurprisingly, fans flocked to the comment section under the video of Liu singing to pass along kind words. In fact, Liu's Copenhagen Test co-star Melissa Barrera added a comment of her own on The Kelly Clarkson Show's Instagram post that featured the clip.
"I did not know your gameeee!!!!!," Barrera wrote. She added that she's hoping for Season 2 of The Copenhagen Test, "but make it musical."
