What can fans expect from Next Gen NYC Season 2?
"Next Gen NYC is back for Season 2, and it's anything but chill," the official announcement revealed. "The pace is faster, the hustle is louder, and for this New York City crew, life in the city that never sleeps is a full-on reality check. From first real apartments and lingering scandals to messy breakups, shifting friendships and new romances, everyone's trying to build a life that feels authentic — but also aesthetic."
The release further teased, "Eager to carve out their own identities, they're determined to make it on their own terms while also navigating the pressure to curate the right vibe, the right circles, and a feed that keeps up with the life they're chasing. The Next Gen NYC trailer for Season 2 offers even more specific intel on what's ahead for the friend group, kicking off with clips of social media coverage of Ariana and Hudson's breakup. As one commentator declares that now is the "prime time to f--k Charlie Zakkour," new complexities in Ariana's dating life come sharply into focus.
During a group dinner Charlie announces, "Ariana and I have not had sex," prompting her to call out his "f--kin' crazy-ass comment." He playfully responds, "OK, fine, can we go and give each other mean gifts?" In another clip from the same scene, Riley, meanwhile, refers to Ariana and Charlie as a "new dynamic duo," while Gia, in a confessional, makes a comparison to Lady and the Tramp's iconic kiss moment.
Later, Charlie mentions whether or not someone has "the label of exclusivity," before the sneak peek cuts to someone asking him point-blank via speakerphone, "Did you hook up with Ariana?" The preview cuts away before he answers, however.

Further complicating matters is that Ariana and newcomer Liam are also apparently "flirting" with each other. That happens just in time for Hudson to return (via private jet, no less) and declare in a confessional, "I think Ariana and I will end up getting back together." In a tense moment with Liam afterward, he fumes, "I'm not gonna f--king sit here and let myself be a bitch."
Elsewhere, in addition to navigating her father, Damon Dash, filing for bankruptcy, Ava appears to be healing from her own painful breakup. She's shown with sunglasses on and her hood up on a sofa as her castmates rally around her in support. Ava's mother, Rachel Roy, meanwhile remarks, "Guys come and go. You need some girls that can be like, we're gonna bring the tequila and we're gonna get through this."
Hers isn't the only famous parent to make a cameo in the Next Gen NYC preview. Newcomer Rowan's mom, Brooke Shields, also appears, as does The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kandi Burruss, reminding daughter Riley to "own [her] greatness." Though he's not seen in the flesh, an image of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City husband Seth Marks also pops up when Charlie tells Brooks, "F--k your dad."
