How Does Peacock's PONIES End? What Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson Would Like To Happen
Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson have some thoughts on what they'd like for their characters after that shocking finale.
Warning: This article contains major plot spoilers for PONIES and its finale.
Just when it seemed that Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson's PONIES characters had KGB officer Andrei Vasiliev (Artjom Gilz) backed into a corner — everything changed.
The finale of the Peacock espionage thriller series leaves off on a wild cliffhanger, and Peacock Blog spoke to stars Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson about that dramatic ending, what they think happened, and what they'd like for their characters.
The actresses play Bea (Clarke) and Twila (Richardson), who are based in Moscow during the Cold War when they're told that their CIA agent husbands died in a plane crash. They convince the CIA to let them become CIA operatives themselves, in order to try to find out what happened to their husbands.

Bea can speak fluent Russian, so the hope is that she'll blend in, while Twila is “fearless,” as the head of the CIA Moscow station Dane Walter (Adrian Lester) tells his superiors in the first episode. Dane tells the women that, unless they blow their cover, they're considered "persons of no interest" — or PONIES. But if the KGB is on to them, they could end up dead.
The stakes are high if Bea and Twila are ever caught, but their quick thinking, funny banter, and unconventional partnership make for an entertaining escapade.
Keep reading to find out what happens to Bea and Twila at the end of PONIES — which is streaming in full on Peacock now — and what Clarke and Richardson have to say about it.
What happens at the end of Peacock's PONIES?
As the murderous Andrei pursued Bea and Twila in a car, Twila's quick thinking and driving skills allowed her to make a sharp turn — knowing the KGB officer's vehicle couldn't pull off the maneuver — causing Andrei's car to flip multiple times when he tried to make the same turn.
The women took an injured Andrei, who was stuffed into the trunk of the car Twila was driving, back to the CIA's station at the U.S. Embassy. They also carried in boxes of the shampoo bottles that they found at Andrei's secret house, which contained tapes that could incriminate Andrei, who murdered multiple women.
Bea and Twila revealed to Andrei that they have the tapes, and that they would have killed him, but want to use their leverage to get him to work for them. Specifically, they want answers on who killed their husbands. Just as Andrei started talking a bit, a bomb planted at the embassy vault by way of Cheryl (Vic Michaelis) — who is revealed to have been the mole working with the KGB — was detonated. The fire from the explosion engulfed the boxes of shampoo bottles, as well as other evidence in the vault that the CIA had been collecting.
KGB agents posing as firefighters stormed the embassy, grabbing all of the CIA's files. Andrei walked out of the room where Bea and Twila had him restrained, and taunted them as the place burned. Bea and Twila, horrified, held hands and turned around just in time to see KGB agents point guns at their heads.
