Dillard Bassett's husband is chef Chris Bassett, who co-owned Myron Mixon's Pitmaster BBQ in Arlington, Virginia, before selling it to focus on private catering opportunities. The chef and his now-wife met while working together in a restaurant in 2015 — a detail that Dillard Bassett revealed during Season 3 of RHOP.
"We met at work. We were both, at the time, working at a restaurant in Chinatown in D.C.," she recalled. "He was a manager. I was just a host. And he decides to ask me, 'So when can I come cook in your kitchen?' He'll deny this, but I know a flirt when I see a flirt."
When did Candiace Dillard marry Chris Bassett?
Chris proposed in May 2017 and the couple tied the knot in August of 2018 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C., in a wedding that reportedly cost more than $200,000.
"Everything was perfect — we were just blown away by it all," Dillard Bassett told People of her nuptials, which were filmed for RHOP.

In an August 2025 Instagram carousel celebrating the couple's seventh wedding anniversary, Dillard Basset gushed in the caption over her husband in a way that made fans swoon.
"Seven years ago, I thought marriage would be all love and laughter — and I was right. But I never imagined how full, blessed, and downright hilarious life could be with you," she wrote. "Time has flown, but we? We’ve shown up for every occasion, plot twist, and adventure with grace, grit, and just the right amount of wit. We do life together better than anyone I know and I’m grateful for us."

Dillard Bassett and her husband welcomed their only son together, Jett Maxwell Lee, on October 3, 2024.
"He is just the cutest little thing," she told People in a November 2024 story. "Chris and I couldn't be happier. It's so cliché to say, but he's brought such joy to our lives in ways I never would have been able to describe before. It's pure love!"
