How to Watch Backlash 2025 LIVE

WWE’s first Premium Live Event after WrestleMania is LIVE this weekend from St. Louis. We’ll show you how to see it all.

John Cena will face Randy Orton one last time at Backlash in St. Louis LIVE Saturday at 7E/4P on Peacock.

After John Cena took the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania, we all knew there would be some Backlash. The drama and action of WWE never stops, and since Randy Orton attacked Cena after WrestleMania, we’ve been waiting for their inevitable showdown. It’ll all go down in St. Louis at Backlash.

What Is Backlash?

Backlash is WWE’s first Premium Live Event after WrestleMania. There’s not a tougher act to follow, but Backlash always brings the thrills. The matches on the card are a direct result of what happened at WrestleMania and in the weeks since then. Most importantly, they will shape the coming months of WWE.

Where Will Backlash Take Place?

This year, Backlash takes place at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, MO. This is Randy Orton’s hometown, so he’ll be a heavy crowd favorite in his match against Cena. This is the first Premium Live Event in St. Louis since 2017’s Money in the Bank, which was held in this same venue.

What Time Does Backlash Start?

Countdown to Backlash starts Saturday May 10 at 5E/2P. You’ll get interviews, analysis, and predictions for the upcoming matches. Backlash starts at 7E/4P.

What Can We Expect from Backlash

Tensions among the Judgement Day looked like they were coming to a head at WrestleMania when Dominik Mysterio pinned Finn Bálor for the Intercontinental Championship. Since then though, the faction has looked as tight as ever, helping each other win matches the way we’ve always seen them do. We’ll see if that trend continues when Dom defends his championship against the phenomenal luchador Penta.

Also on the line is the United States Championship, which Jacob Fatu took from L.A. Knight at WrestleMania. After a series of fights over who would be the next person to challenge for the championship, Smackdown General Manager Nick Aldis set a fatal four way between Fatu, Knight, Damien Priest, and Drew McIntyre for this Saturday night.

Lyra Valkyria will also defend her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against her WrestleMania tag-team partner Becky Lynch. Despite taking the Tag Team Championship in that match, the duo lost the very next night, leading Lynch to turn against Valkyria. Wanting a shot at revenge against Lynch, Valkyria is putting her Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line at Backlash.

Of course, there doesn’t always need to be a title on the line for two people to take each other on in the ring. After losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Jey Uso at WrestleMania, Gunther took issue with the commentary from Michael Cole and Pat McAfee. After a spirited exchange with the commentary team, the Ring General attacked McAfee, choking him out by the ring. Wanting a chance to get back at Gunther, McAfee accepted the opportunity to face him this Saturday night. Gunther is one of the toughest Superstars in WWE, so McAfee has a real fight ahead of him.

The main event of the night will of course be John Cena in the first defense of his historic 17th world championship. Cena took Cody Rhodes down to close out WrestleMania Sunday, only to be attacked by Randy Orton the next night. Since then, the two have been calling each other out every chance they’ve gotten. Orton wanted to fight Cena right away, but Cena refused. If he’s going to defend his championship, it’s going to be on the next big stage at Backlash.

That’s what we know is going to happen. The one thing we know about WWE PPremium Live Events is that there’s always the chance for a surprise. We’ll just have to see what these Superstars have in store for us this weekend.
