January is a stressful time of year. The twinkly joy from the holiday season is long gone, and in its place is cold, biting temperatures, resolutions we abandon in three weeks, and taxes. But there’s a bright spot in this icy, hopeless abyss: television.
No matter what’s going on outside, TV never lets us down. Whether it’s an immersive drama, an escapist comedy, or a truly bonkers reality show, television is the ultimate salve for stressful, sad times. And thankfully, Peacock has you covered with a slew of titles — from all genres — to remedy your January blues.

And if you need something to remind yourself that feeling joy is possible even when it’s 7 degrees, The Voice is here to sing you a tune.
Below, check out nine shows and movies on Peacock that will help you block out life’s noise for a minute. Right now, that’s exactly what we all need:
The Traitors
Alan Cumming hosts this clever, cunning reality competition show that sees reality TV legends playing a high-stakes murder mystery game. Contestants work together to build up a massive cash prize, but hidden amongst them are the Traitors, who have one goal: secretly eliminate the non-Traitors (called Faithfuls) and make it to the end to claim the money for themselves. Each episode sees the Faithfuls trying to out the Traitors through banishments, while the Traitors attempt to stay under the radar as they “murder” a Faithful each night. It's a lying game of epic proportions, set in a larger-than-life castle in Scotland. Transporting to this universe for an hour every week is the ultimate serotonin boost.

Love Island USA
A hot new bombshell has entered the Villa to turn up the heat — which is great because it's below freezing outside right now. In all seriousness, prepare to get hooked on this steamy reality juggernaut, which centers on a group of singles pairing up and attempting to find love in a tropical haven.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City
Another excellent way to spend a snowed-in afternoon: with the women of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, who redefine what it means to be authentic and vulnerable on screen. Currently in its sixth season, the show follows the ever-shifting dynamics between Lisa Barlow, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, Angie Katsanevas, Mary Cosby, Bronwyn Newport, Heather Gay, and friend Britani Bateman. Viewers get a no-holds-barred look at not only these women's friendships, but their marriages, careers, and lives as moms — interspersed with some truly hilarious moments that will keep you hitting the "Next Episode" button.
All Her Fault
Sometimes, escapism comes in the form of a truly gripping drama you can't turn off. That, in a nutshell, is All Her Fault, which begins with every parent's worst nightmare: A mom (Sarah Snook) goes to pick up her son, Milo, from a playdate, only to find out that she was purposefully given the wrong address. And Milo is nowhere to be found. What transpires is a nail-biting search for Milo that ends with a twist you won't see coming.
The Voice
Season 28 of The Voice is currently streaming on Peacock if you're looking to treat yourself to some seriously good music. The season starts with Coaches Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Michael Bublé forming their teams of singers in the Blind Auditions. Each week after that brings musical challenges that lead the Coaches to eliminate Artists until the Finale, where America votes for the winner. Come for the song covers that will make you cry, stay for the delightful banter between the Coaches.
Saturday Night Live
Laughter really is the best medicine (for stress, for sadness, for anything), and with every single season of SNL at your streaming disposal on Peacock — yes, every one! — you'll never run out of material to lift your spirits.
The Paper
Keep the funny vibes going with The Paper, a new series set in The Office universe. In it, the documentary film crew that followed Dunder Mifflin sets their sights on a new subject: a fledgling newspaper in Toledo, Ohio that attempts to resurrect itself with a team of volunteer reporters. Unsurprisingly, hijinks ensue.
Law & Order: SVU
Watching SVU to de-stress? Hear us out! Yes, the beloved Law & Order spinoff series deals with some heavy subject material, but its procedural format — mixed with Mariska Hargitay's always-warm presence and the thrill of seeing justice served — does make this show a comfort-watch. We're not alone in thinking this.
The Real Housewives of New York City
If you manage to rip through all six seasons of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, then you can't go wrong with stopping by to see the ladies of New York City. One of the most iconic iterations in the franchise, the New York City women, throughout the seasons, are unabashedly themselves — in all their irreverent, funny, biting, hilarious glory. Stepping into their world is a guaranteed good time. Turtle time, you might even say. (If you know, you know.)
