How to Watch

All eight episodes of The Five Star Weekend will debut Thursday, July 9, only on Peacock.

Set to "Shake It Out" by Florence & the Machine, the 90-second spot reveals the tragic inciting incident that changes the life of cookbook author Hollis Shaw (Jennifer Garner), as police inform her that her husband has been in an accident. We cut from a stricken Hollis to gorgeous Nantucket, where she says she's "just trying to move forward." That means rallying her equally-stunning inner circle of friends from "each stage of life."

In a feat of wonderful casting, said friends are played by Darcy Carden (The Good Place), Chloe Sevigny (Feud), and Regina Hall (One Battle After Another). Hollis' friends have never met Hollis' fourth guest at the weekend, played by Gemma Chan (Crazy Rich Asians).

The trailer widens its focus to all five women's lives, and we soon learn that Hollis isn't the only one pretending things are okay as they are.

"We're all dealing with a lot," Hollis says, as Tatum (Chloe Sevigny) receives medical news, Brooke (Carden) seems to be exploring her sexual orientation, asking, "what if I'm not brave enough to be myself?" And perhaps most intriguingly, Dru-Ann (Hall) clocks that Gigi (Chan) is definitely hiding something.

Things get messy from there — arguments! smashed glass! walking into the ocean fully clothed! — and Hollis' daughter (Harlow Jane) draws gasps when she calls it a "Golden Girls weekend." If drinking wine in gorgeous light by the beach with your besties makes you Blanche Deveraux, sign us up.
