Jennifer Garner's The Five Star Weekend Series Just Got a Teaser & New Premiere Date
The buzzy, beach-read based series with an incredible cast premieres July 9 on Peacock.
Don't look now — your latest binge-watch streaming obsession is coming to Peacock later this summer.
With an all-star cast boasting Jennifer Garner, D’Arcy Carden, Gemma Chan, Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Harlow Jane, and Timothy Olyphant, Peacock's The Five Star Weekend series will be must-watch summer TV. And the first-look teaser trailer has us counting the days until it's July premiere date — which is now even sooner than before.
The series is Peacock adaptation of a 2023 novel of the same name by best-selling author Elin Hilderbrand, a writer known as the "Queen of the Beach Reads." Here's Peacock's official synopsis:
The story follows "Hollis Shaw (Garner), a famed cook and best-selling author known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste, and warm demeanor, who suffers a devastating loss. Unable to move forward, the death starts to expose the cracks in Hollis’s picture-perfect life—her strained marriage, her complicated relationship with her daughter, and her growing pursuit of validation from her fans. In an effort to overcome grief and find herself again, Hollis gets the idea to host a weekend away at her house on Nantucket with three friends from different stages in her life: her childhood, her twenties, thirties, and one surprise fifth star. Set against a luxurious and coastal backdrop, the stars will mature in ways they could never imagine as boundaries are pushed and secrets are exposed."

Set to the 1990s bop "Dreams" by The Cranberries, The Five Star Weekend trailer introduces us to Garner's Hollis Shaw. After the loss of her husband, Hollis is surrounded by four of her close friends (Carden, Chan, Hall, and Sevigny) for "a weekend of five-star treatment" in a giant beachside house.
"Doesn't she deserve to know the truth, even if it would hurt?" Carden's character asks, presumably referring to Hollis. Then we meet a possible new-slash-old love interest, Hollis's first boyfriend all grown up (Olyphant).

In a 2026 interview with Flaunt, Garner spoke about her experience filming the series; specifically, how special the bond was between Garner and her co-stars.
"Oh my gosh, I loved the sisterhood of making that show," she sweetly confessed.
