Jimmy Fallon Crashed Nicola Coughlan's SNL UK Episode! Watch the Monologue
The SNL cast alum and three-time Host showed the Bridgerton star how "magical" headlining the live show can be.
Viewers tuning in to the April 25, 2026 episode of Saturday Night Live UK got more than they bargained for during Host Nicola Coughlan's epic opening monologue: a surprise appearance by Jimmy Fallon!
After properly introducing herself to viewers (and joking that she prepared for her hosting stint in a very, uh, 1970s fashion), the Bridgerton actress said she felt honored to be standing on stage, and "it sort of feels like I manifested it somehow. It's almost like this place is like, magic."

That's when Jimmy Fallon, a SNL cast member from 1998-2004 and three-time Host, appeared.
"That's because it is!" the Tonight Show host announced to raucous applause from the SNL UK live audience. Coughlan called Fallon "SNL royalty" — even if he wasn't quite sure how to pronounce her name.
"God, I love the British sense of humor," Fallon quipped after hearing the star pronounce her first name out loud.
"I'm Irish, Jimmy," she snapped back. "Educate yourself." This was a callback to Coughlan's appearance in the premiere episode of Saturday Night Live UK during Tina Fey's monologue.
Fallon soon revealed that he stopped by to tell her "the biggest secret about SNL that no one wants you to know."

"Which is?" Coughlan asked Fallon.
"Well, don't tell anyone," Fallon said, before waiting a beat. "It's live."
"They don't really try to hide that, Jimmy. It's in the title," she said.
Not so fast — according to Fallon, Coughlan wasn't "getting it." Before viewers knew what was happening, the longtime host of The Tonight Show showed the Bridgerton star exactly what he meant. Cueing the band, Fallon took her by the hand and whisked her away on a foray through the studio to prove just how unpredictable the live element of SNL UK really was.
"You can rub this man's hair if you like. Why not?" Fallon suggested. "I mean, look who it is! Sir Paul McCartney himself," he said, pointing to a man who looks nothing like the SNL Season 51 finale's Musical Guest.

"Jimmy, I don't think that's a Beatle," Coughlan pointed out.
"Well, every American thinks everyone from England's in the Beatles," Fallon explained.
The duo checked all the boxes on their quick adventure, from wandering backstage to calling SNL UK's Weekend Update anchors "nerds" to becoming best friends with Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters to breaking a bottle over cast member George Fouracres' head.
"You're feeling this energy almost TOO much," Fallon warned.
Once the dust cleared (literally, as Fallon attempted a magician's escape that went hilariously wrong), the two embraced onstage to kick off an episode that featured more appearances from the SNL ambassador. Fallon joined "Weekend Update" across-the-pond anchors Ania Magliano and Paddy Young for a segment later in the show.
"Live from London… (thank you for having me @snluk! And teaching me about Percy Pigs)," Fallon captioned an April 26 Instagram post sharing moments from his appearance. The shots included a behind-the-scenes pic of Fallon hiding behind the "Update" desk before his cameo.
"FANK YOO JIMMY !!!" Young commented.
