Who's competing at the TYR Pro Swim Series Indianapolis?
A who's who of American swimming icons is set to show up this week for the last Pro Swim Series stop of the year, led by the most decorated woman in U.S. Olympic history, Katie Ledecky. Ledecky continues her dominant streak in signature events like the 800m and 1500m freestyle swims, and she'll look to follow-up the Ft. Lauderdale stop on the Pro Swim Series road with more wins in Indianapolis.
But Ledecky's not the only Olympic legend set to race. Caleb Dressel, a nine-time Olympic medalist, will also compete at the event, in a pool where he still holds the facility's top time in the 50m butterfly sprint. Like Ledecky, Dressel's a veteran U.S. swimmer at this point, continuing to make his mark on the sport while preparing to be a Los Angeles 2028 Olympian.
And speaking of LA28 Olympians, rising stars in the swimming world will also be on hand, including Katie Grimes, who was the youngest member of Team USA at the 2020 Tokyo Games. Paris 2024 200m medley silver medalist Alex Walsh will also compete, as will gold medalists Gretchen Walsh, Kate Douglass, Torri Huske, and Ryan Murphy. Tuning in for an event like this means you can learn these names and their strengths now, ahead of what might be Olympic gold in two years.
