What to know about Nottingham Forest v. Arsenal
In what will surely be one of the highlights of Matchweek 22, Arsenal comes into this game unbeaten in their last 10 in all competitions, most recently defeating Chelsea 3-2 at Stamford Bridge in the first leg of the EFL Cup Semi-Finals on Wednesday. The Gunners are looking to bounce back from their previous Premier League match, where they were frustratingly held to a goalless 0-0 draw against Liverpool at the Emirates. In the previous meeting between these two sides back in September, Arsenal defeated Nottingham Forest 3-0 in front of their home support, and Mikel Arteta will be looking for a similar performance this time around.
After not scoring for six games, Viktor Gyökeres got back on the scoresheet against Chelsea on Wednesday, adding an assist as well. Arteta will be hoping his striker can pick up some form now heading into a crucial part of the season, starting with this match on Saturday. The Gunners have impressively spread the goalscoring responsibility around this year with five players having four or more goals. Defensively, Arteta will be a little concerned that his team has kept only one clean sheet in their last seven matches in all competitions, after starting the season with 13 clean sheets in their first 16 matches. With Gabriel and William Saliba both now back from injury, the Gunners will be eager to improve at the back.
Nottingham Forest is in the midst of a difficult run of form, having lost four out of their last five Premier League matches and being knocked out of the FA Cup by Championship side Wrexham on penalties. After finishing last season in an impressive 7th place, Forest currently sit in 17th, seven points safe from the relegation zone. Sean Dyche’s men have struggled to score goals of late with only four goals scored in their last five Premier League matches. Talisman Morgan Gibbs-White has two goals in his last two matches in the league and Callum Hudson-Odoi is coming off a two-goal performance against Wrexham, so Dyche will be hoping his team can threaten Arsenal on the counter.
