Ariana Madix Details Keeping Ciara Miller's Love Island Secret: "My Lips Were Sealed"
In an exclusive interview with Peacock Blog, the host of Love Island USA reveals when she found out the big news.
As it turns out, Love Island USA's Ariana Madix is quite good at keeping secrets.
On May 11, it was announced that Ciara Miller and Tefi Pessoa would be taking over hosting duties on Love Island Aftersun when Love Island USA Season 8 premieres this June on Peacock, replacing outgoing host Maura Higgins. That news shook the entertainment world, but the fact that Madix kept everything under wraps is equally impressive!
During a conversation with Peacock Blog just hours after the news broke, Madix revealed that she knew about the addition of Miller and Pessoa to the Love Island universe for some time.
"I've been very good at keeping that secret," Madix explained. "I think I've known for a bit of time because I had talked to both of them separately, and I'm proud of myself for keeping that secret because I'm usually not very good at it."

So, how long has Madix kept this secret? On April 23, Madix and Miller made headlines by appearing in a Sonic ad together where they referenced the Summer House scandal that has rocked reality television (and Miller's personal life) — so did Madix know then?

"I didn't know for sure when we did Sonic commercial, but then I feel like soon after, I ran into Ciara at Teyana Taylor's burlesque show and we chatted about it then," she confessed. "But my lips were sealed."
Taylor's show served as a pre-Met Gala party that took place on May 3, and to the surprise of no one, both Madix and Miller looked absolutely stunning.
Although Madix isn't privy to the behind-the-scenes details that led to Miller and Pessoa hosting Aftersun, she did admit that she is "very excited" to see how the duo flourishes in their new roles.

"I don't know how it came about, but I'm like very excited," she confessed. "I'm really excited to see their takes on the whole season as it happens. I think that'll be really, really fun."
When does Love Island USA Season 8 premiere?
Fans eager to see Madix, Miller, and Pessoa in Season 8 won't have to wait much longer — the Peacock premiere of Love Island USA Season 8 is right around the corner: Tuesday, June 2 at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET.
During the first full week of streaming, episodes will stream daily, and following the premiere week, new episodes stream every day at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET, except for Wednesdays.
