Harvey was in the NBA from 2000 to 2005, playing on five teams during his dynamite tenure, including the Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, and Brooklyn Nets. While the sparks are flying in Fiji as Aniya navigates the already chaotic dating pool, Love Island USA fans want to know more about Aniya's fascinating family gig for the Reconstructing Youth Foundation. Learn more, below.

After graduating with a degree in business marketing from Florida Atlantic University, Aniya went on to instantly utilize her bachelor's degree by joining her father's multi-decade-old nonprofit, the Reconstructing Youth Foundation. NBA power forward Harvey launched the Reconstructing Youth Foundation (RYF) in 2000, curating a nonprofit dedicated to supporting young people through education, health and wellness programs, mentorship, athletics, financial literacy initiatives, and community outreach.

Harvey created the organization to help children and families in underserved and rural communities throughout Southwest Georgia. According to RYF's official website, "RYF is an organization that is all about dreams, education, energy, and momentum. We want to “Reconstruct” thought processes, eating habits, and learning deficiencies while increasing possibilities and resources." The nonprofit focuses on providing resources and opportunities that may otherwise be unavailable to children growing up in low-income areas.

Looking to binge-watch more reality TV after Love Island? Bravo's addictive series Next Gen NYC has entered the chat.

Next Gen NYC  follows several of the Real Housewives' children—including Brooks Marks (Meredith Marks' son) and Gia Giudice (Teresa Giudice's daughter)—as they navigate careers, friendships, and relationships in New York City. The series also stars influencers like Emira D'Spain and children of prominent Hollywood figures, like Ava Dash, daughter of iconic record executive Damon Dash.

Season 2 of Next Gen NYC starts Wednesday, June 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. Episodes will be available to stream next day on Peacock. Season 1 of the show is available to stream on Peacock in full.

RYF also works to address challenges such as food insecurity, poverty, limited access to education, and lack of exposure to career and personal development resources. Fitting for a nonprofit spearheaded by an athlete, RYF also emphasizes the value of nutrition, physical fitness, and academic achievement. RYF currently offers a variety of free programs, including after-school initiatives, homework assistance, summer camps, and business and tech-focused educational opportunities.

For Aniya's father, the organization's work is deeply personal; the former NBA player has said that being raised in a low-income household inspired him to create the opportunities that he lacked growing up. From fun-filled basketball camps to enriching educational programs, the RYF's ultimate goal is to set these children up for the utmost success.

Aniya isn't shy about dishing details about her gig with fellow Islanders, revealing she works very closely with her parents as the marketing director for RYF, where she makes sure the word is spread throughout Georgian communities. While Love Island fans are just getting to know Aniya in the Villa, her family's work off-screen has been making an impact in Georgian communities for years.
