All Her Fault Episode 1

Adapted from Andrea Mara’s novel, Peacock’s latest Original limited series, All Her Fault, navigates the intersection of maternal guilt and classism, and is told through connected stories centered around the mystery of a missing child. What begins as a routine playdate pickup spirals into a shocking mystery that pulls several families into a web of suspicion and deceit.

Buckle up and peel back the layers of long-buried secrets and explore how far a family will go to protect their image.

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

The series’ first episode opens with working mom Marissa Irvine (Sarah Snook) picking up her son, Milo (Duke McCloud), from a scheduled play date. The episode spirals into any parent’s nightmare when it turns out her son isn’t where she thought he would be. As it dawns on her that she’s shown up to the home of a stranger, who is equally as confused as she is, Marissa frantically connects with Jenny Kaminski (Dakota Fanning), the mom of Jacob, a classmate whom Milo is supposed to be on a playdate with.

Turns out, it was Marissa’s mistake and Jenny is busy with work, claiming she never scheduled a play date for Milo at all. Jenny’s son is with another mom and her son.

All Her Fault Episode 1

Even before the title treatment drops, the dread and trepidation that Marissa feels in that moment is palpable after realizing she doesn’t know who picked up her son from school and that he is in fact missing, after connecting with her husband, Peter (Jake Lacy), who is still at work. Within the first five minutes of the first episode, we are catapulted into the series’ main mystery: Where is Milo Irvine?

Through police interviews led by Detective Alcaras (Michael Peña), we get the backgrounds of all the parents through past and present timelines and are introduced to the series main characters, who all become potential suspects connected to Milo’s disappearance.

There’s Peter’s siblings — his brother Brian (Daniel Monks) and his sister Lia (Abby Elliott), who are both close to Peter. Peter is presented as a caring provider, not only for his wife and son but his siblings as well. We learn that Marissa and Peter both have high-power finance careers that afford them their seemingly perfect and affluent lifestyle. Marissa’s best friend and business partner, Colin Dobbs (Jay Ellis), isintroduced when he shows up the evening Milo goes missing to provide comfort and support to the Irvines. Even without knowing too much about the family and those in their inner circle, we quickly pick up on the dissonance of their flawless exterior and the dark truths that could lie beneath the surface.

These cracks are revealed through flashbacks, when we learn how Marissa and Jenny met and bonded at a school social event. The two women connect over the pressures of working motherhood and playful disdain over their marriages. Because of their demanding careers, it’s also revealed that both mothers heavily rely on the help of their nannies.

We meet Ana Garcia (Kartiah Vergara), who has been working with the Irvine family as Milo’s nanny. And Carrie Finch (Sophia Lillis), the Kaminskis' new nanny, who was recently hired to look after Jacob. Fear strikes when it’s uncovered that it was Carrie — without any real connection to the Irvines — who picked Milo up from school, leaving the first episode on an intriguing cliffhanger.

The Kaminskis and Irvines are now forever bound by Milo’s disappearance. What does Carrie Finch want with Milo? Was this orchestrated by the Kaminski family? How culpable are the Irvines in the case of their missing son?

Unravel the thrilling mystery of All Her Fault, now streaming exclusively on Peacock.
