Burnley looks to claw their way out of the relegation zone following a 2–2 draw against West Ham at London Stadium last week. The club sits at 19th in the table, and a positive result against the Bees this weekend will be crucial for bridging the 10-point gap separating them from Nottingham Forest in 17th place.

Burnley will look to Fofana, who has netted three goals in five starts, to put them on the scoreboard as they look for their first Premier League victory of 2024. The Ivorian international joined the team in January on loan from Chelsea and has made an immediate impact to bolster the team’s attacking prowess.

With 10 matches to go in the Premier League season and the March international break incoming, manager Vincent Kompany is optimistic toward his side’s chances after they held their own against the Hammers.  

Brentford comes off the heels of a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at Emirates Stadium. The Bees evened the score in the final moments of the first half after Yoane Wissa capitalized on a mistake from Gunners’ goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and were minutes away from securing a draw before conceding a decisive header from Kai Havertz. Wissa has notched a goal in each of Brentford’s last three matches, all of which were against fellow London-based clubs.

With the likes of Everton, Nottingham Forest, and Luton Town on their tail, a win against Burnley would provide a greater level of security for Brentford in their efforts to remain in the top flight. Though the squad will be without captain Christian Nørgaard after he sustained a back injury against Arsenal, this weekend could mark the returns of Sergio Reguilón and Bryan Mbeumo pending manager Thomas Frank’s go-ahead. Mbeumo has been out since December due to an ankle injury and looks to add to his seven goals and three assists this Premier League season. 

Burnley and Brentford previously met in October at Gtech Community Stadium. The Bees came out on top in that matchup with a 3–0 triumph that saw goals from Wissa, Mbeumo, and Saman Ghoddos.
