The Cast of Peacock's The Miniature Wife Series Is Full of (Very) Funny People

Peacock original The Miniature Wife uses the story of a doll-sized woman (Elizabeth Banks) and her ambitious, normal-sized scientist husband (Matthew Macfadyen) to tackle big topics like marriage equality and how we define success.

All 10 episodes of The Miniature Wife premiere on Thursday, April 9, only on Peacock. 

But while the 10-episode series from creators Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner grapples with weighty themes, its tone stays firmly rooted in dark comedy. The Miniature Wife's talented cast and guest stars bring quirky characters to life, selling every minute of the show's science-fiction-tinged ride.

Who is in the cast of Peacock's The Miniature Wife series?

Based on a short story by Manuel Gonzales, the show follows an author named Lindy Littlejohn and her biotech scientist husband Les. After a marital argument gone awry, Lindy gets suddenly miniaturized by his latest invention.

While Les tries to find a way to embiggen her back to size, Lindy's forced to live a tiny new life confined in a dollhouse. And that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the couple's hijinks, which soon draw those around them into all kinds of misadventure.

Elizabeth Banks plays the titular role of Lindy, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author currently navigating a rocky time with her husband Les. One minute, they're arguing; the next, she's woken up to an enormous Post-It note that says, "don't freak out."

Banks is known for film roles like Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games trilogy and Gail in the Pitch Perfect series, which she also produced alongside her husband Max Handelman. She has also lent her recognizable voice to animated films like Migration and The LEGO Movie. Banks earned two Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series nominations as Jack Donaghy's wife Avery Jessup on 30 Rocka third nom in the category for Modern Family, and a 2025 Outstanding Host For A Game Show nomination as the host of ​​​Press Your Luck. 

As a director, Banks helmed the movies Pitch Perfect 2, the 2019 Charlie's Angels reboot, and Cocaine Bear.

Matthew Macfadyen as Les Littlejohn

Matthew Macfadyen plays Les Littlejohn, a scientist who's worried he won't make a significant mark in his field. He's also dealing with a small-yet-enormous problem while dealing with his colleagues and intimidating new bosses. 

Those who know Macfadyen as Tom Wambsgans on Succession, for which he won two Emmys and two BAFTAs, may not realize the actor is English. But the passionate fanbase he earned playing Mr. Darcy opposite Keira Knightley in the 2005 film Pride & Prejudice likely does. In 2025, Macfadyen played presidential assassin Charles J. Guiteau in the TV miniseries Death By Lightning. He voiced Voldemort in a 2026 series of Harry Potter audiobooks for Audible, and revealed to Seth Meyers that they even gave him a "comfort wand" to hold while he recorded it. 

Zoe Lister-Jones

Zoe Lister-Jones plays a biotech company colleague of Les Littlejohn's.

You might have seen Lister-Jones as a cast member on the TV shows Whitney and Life in Pieces, or as Fawn Moscato on New Girl. Like Banks, Lister-Jones is a director, as well as a screen writer. She co-wrote, co-directed, and starred in the 2021 movie How It Ends, and wrote and directed 2017's Band Aid, which she also starred in.

Lister-Jones showcased her bass playing and singing talents in the film, even releasing an EP of songs from the film alongside costars Adam Pally and Saturday Night Live alum Fred Armisen. 

O-T Fagbenle

British actor, writer, and director Olatunde Olateju Olaolorun "O-T" Fagbenle earned an Emmy nomination for his role as Luke Bankole on The Handmaid's Tale. In 2024, he played Dennis Sampson on the show No Good Deed, Isaac on LOOT, and prosecutor Nico Della Santa in Jake Gyllenhaal's season of Presumed Innocent. He's also had TV roles on Maxxx, which Fagbenle wrote, directed, and created, and Harlan Coben miniseries The Five. 

Sian Clifford

English actress Sian Clifford's TV credits include roles in His Dark Materials and Unstable, and she's appeared in films including The Ballad of Wallis Island and 2026's Mother Mary. But Clifford is best known for playing the prickly sister to Phoebe Waller-Bridge in the acclaimed 12-episode series Fleabag from 2016-2019.

Recurring cast

Peacock has also revealed two recurring actors who'll appear in the series, with more guest stars revealed in the 10 episodes that drop on April 9. 

Ronny Chieng

Malaysia-born actor and stand-up comedian Ronny Chieng has appeared in films including Crazy Rich Asians, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Joyride, and M3GAN (spoiler alert: He was killed by M3GAN). He's guest-starred in TV shows like The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins, Interior Chinatown, and American Born Chinese. 

In addition to his three stand-up comedy specials, Chieng is well-known as a longtime senior correspondent and sometime host of The Daily Show since 2015.

Aasif Mandvi

British actor Aasif Mandvi played Ben Shakir on the series Evil for four seasons. In addition to being a prolific voice actor, Mandvi has appeared in TV series including A Series of Unfortunate Events, Younger, Blue Bloods, and The Brink. 

Like Chieng, Mandvi was known as a longtime correspondent for The Daily Show, starting way back in 2006.

Rong Fu

Chinese-Canadian actress Rong Fu played Jenna Mitchell on the series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. She has also appeared on series including The Handmaid's Tale, Skymed, and Murdoch Mysteries.

Tricia Black

Canadian actor Tricia Black played Mule in the series Wayward, and Det. Tara Swallows on the CBC series Pretty Hard Cases. They also appeared in TV shows including Kim's Convenience, Ghosts, In the Dark, and Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
