Seth MacFarlane's New Ted Series: First Look, Teaser, and Release Date

Peacock sets premiere date and shares images and a teaser for the upcoming event series.

By Peacock Staff

Everyone’s favorite foul-mouthed teddy bear is back!

Peacock has officially announced a premiere date for ted, the upcoming event series and prequel to Seth McFarlane’s hit film franchise.

What is ted about?

In this prequel to the ted films, it's 1993, and Ted’s (Seth MacFarlane) moment of fame has passed. He’s now living back home in Framingham, Massachusetts with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett (Max Burkholder), along with John’s parents, Matty and Susan (Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach) and cousin Blaire (Giorgia Whigham). Ted may be a lousy influence on John, but at the end of the day, he’s a loyal pal who’s always willing to go out on a limb for friendship.

“The only thing that makes [being 16] tolerable is going through it with a friend,” said co-showrunners, Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh, “even if that friend is a has-been magical teddy bear with a foul mouth and a proclivity for drug use.”

When will ted premiere?

Peacock has announced that the event series ted will launch on Peacock on Jan 11, the perfect antidote to the dark winter months.
