Sunday Night Football is home to some of the most thrilling matchups of the NFL season. Every week, two of the league’s toughest teams face off in primetime on Sunday’s biggest stage. This week brings the action to Meadowlands, New Jersey where the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the New York Jets.

The Jets hoped to be starting Aaron Rodgers against the Chiefs this Sunday, but Rodgers suffered a season-ending injury in Week One. As a result, Zach Wilson is back to being the Jets’ number one guy. The Jets drafted Wilson number two overall in 2021, so he’s still under contract through at least the 2024 season. The Jets have struggled on offense, but the defense remains the star of the show in New York. They’ve consistently made trouble for opposing offenses, created turnovers, and kept the Jets in games well into the fourth quarter. They’re gonna make life difficult for the Chiefs on Sunday night. Plus, remember that the Jets won that first game against the Bills even after Rodgers went out. The Jets have some fight in them yet.

The Chiefs are still the Chiefs: Super Bowl champions with one of the most dynamic, fun-to-watch quarterbacks in the league. Patrick Mahomes still regularly completes passes that, even in slow motion replay, make you wonder how they’re possible. Like he’s bending the laws of physics to his whim. Mahomes exited last week’s game early against the Bears, but the quarterback is reportedly fine, and only left the game because the Chiefs were so far ahead. They started the season with a surprising upset loss against the Lions, but three weeks later, that’s looking like a fluke. Especially after last week’s 41–10 rout of the Bears. If they can get around the Jets’ defense, the Chiefs could see a similar result this weekend. Especially if, say, Travis Kelce gets a burst of confidence from anyone in the crowd cheering on the Ch13fs.
