7 Reasons to Watch ted the TV Series on Peacock

What? It's freaking hilarious.

Ted TV Show

Ted is back where it all went wrong in this prequel series that reveals the early days of him and his best buddy, John. The show is set in 1993 and follows Ted and John as they navigate first dates, first adult movies, and their first-time smoking pot together ("pot" is what we called it in the '90s). We also get to meet John’s parents and cousin, who join in on the family fun of living with a talking teddy bear. And if that weren't enough, here are seven more reasons to watch the ted TV series on Peacock.

1. 'Thunder Buddies' for life

See the origins of the famous “Thunder Buddies” song that John and Ted sing in the movies. Also, bonus bit, we learn that John owns a guitar.

2. Nostalgic '90s references

The ted TV series is a great scavenger hunt for 90’s pop-culture favorites. See what you can spot among the posters, t-shirts, and Ian Ziering look-alikes (hint: it’s actually Ian Ziering).

3. Seth MacFarlane’s signature humor

Fans of Family Guy, American Dad and the ted movies will find the same hilarious, raunchy comedy because series creator Seth MacFarlane not only voices Ted again, but he also serves as writer and director for every episode of the ted prequel series.

4. Expansion of the Ted Universe

We briefly see John’s parents freak out when Ted first comes to life in the movie but that is all we get to see of a young John. The ted TV series changes that and takes us back to when John was a teenager in Framingham, Massachusetts, dealing with all the experiences we never saw in the movies: prom, bullies, and Aladdin cosplay (seriously, you have to see it to believe it).

5. Family Guy Easter Eggs

Eagle-eyed viewers of the ted prequel series will see callbacks to Family Guy in the name of the porno movie that Ted and John watch. Also, John’s high school crush shares the same last name as Brian’s mother-in-law in a Family Guy episode.

6. All-Star Cast

Seth MacFarlane taps some trusted talent for his prequel series with Sir Ian McKellan kicking the series off as the narrator. Max Burkholder from NBC’s Parenthood plays a teenage John Bennet. From there, Seth continues with former Orville cast members Scott Grimes as John’s dad, Penny Johnson Jerald as John’s high school principal, and Alana Ubach from HBO’s Euphoria as John’s mom.

7. Bingeworthy Entertainment

All episodes are available to stream on Peacock right now. No need to wait a week for the next one! ted the TV series is ready and waiting for you.
