Love Language

Reality • TV-14 • 1 Season • TV Series
Love Language is a new reality dating show from Peacock and Duolingo where the hottest singles in the world will share a house in paradise in hopes of finding true love. The catch? None of them speak the same language. Featuring stars from around the world like Francesca Farago, the show will force bikini-clad contestants to learn a new tongue in more ways than one. Couples must complete challenges and ultimately speak each other’s love language for a chance to win the grand prize. If learners fail to do their daily language lessons or find a match by the end of an episode, they will be eliminated by the show’s iconic host and merciless judge, Duo the Owl.

And in case you haven’t caught on by now, our lawyers have told us that we have to make it abundantly clear this reality show is in fact a joke and not real. But we aren’t kidding when we say we want you to learn a new language on Duolingo and check out the other reality love series we have here on Peacock!

Frequently Asked Questions

In total, we planned for 40 episodes, but only 29 were fully produced due to a discrepancy in budget after Duo the Owl’s lavish wardrobe and dining expenses. Duo referred to any food provided on set that wasn’t from the Malibu location of Nobu as “literal trash.” He also claimed that bikinis are “single-use” and so would require a brand new luxury swim outfit for every single day of filming.

While filming Love Language, contestants are not allowed to use their phones except in order to do their daily Duolingo lessons. If they want to chat or flirt with another contestant, they have to learn the new language and attempt to speak it as best they can. Anyone who is caught cheating instantly vanishes from the house and is held in confinement for the remainder of the show.

This specific procedure was demanded by Duo the Owl and detailed on page 207 of the terms and conditions that each contestant willfully agreed to during their first audition.

While you learn a new language on Duolingo and wait for Love Language to stream, you can also enjoy plenty of other reality dating shows on Peacock that don’t have the stressful and intimidating presence of Duo the Owl. If you’re interested in seeing real couples search for true love, try Love Island USA, Love for the Ages, or Caillou: Adventures with Grandma and Grandpa.

Love Language is not yet a real show available to stream and likely never will be because Duo the Owl refuses to approve any of the final edits. While we’re not at liberty to discuss the details, we can share there are extreme creative differences between Duo the Owl and the rest of the production. Duo insists that he be declared winner of the show and that we remove all subtitles.

One day while filming, Duo the Owl was acting particularly unhinged and shoved Francesca Farago into the swimming pool because she had not completed her Spanish lesson. The Duolingo team denies this footage exists. If the rumors are true, they’ve even hired local injury attorney Peter Francis Menchetti (Menchetti & Sons LLC.) to sue for damages and defamation if that scene ever sees the light of day.

The creators of Love Language may ultimately decide to remove that scene because we can not risk angering Duo the Owl for fear of what he might do in retaliation.
