Using Peacock with Screen Readers


At Peacock, we strive to provide an accessible and inclusive experience for all our users. Peacock is compatible with screen reader technology that can help visually impaired users navigate the app. Screen readers are different from audio description, which Peacock also offers on select content.

Below are some devices with screen readers that work within the Peacock app, along with instructions on how to enable them.

 

To turn on Roku’s screen reader, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Star (*) button on your Roku remote to bring up the options menu
  2. Scroll down and select Settings from the menu
  3. Select Accessibility from the Settings menu
  4. Select Screen Reader and turn it on


To turn on iOS’s screen reader, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device
  2. Scroll down and select Accessibility
  3. Select VoiceOver from the Accessibility menu
  4. Switch on VoiceOver


To turn on Android’s screen reader, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Android device
  2. Select Accessibility from the Settings menu
  3. Select TalkBack from the Accessibility menu
  4. Switch on TalkBack


To turn on Firestick’s screen reader, follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings from the Fire TV menu on the home screen
  2. Scroll right to select Accessibility from the Settings menu
  3. Select the VoiceView option
  4. Turn on VoiceView


To turn on a Samsung TV’s screen reader, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Settings (⚙) button on your Samsung remote
  2. Select All Settings from the Settings menu
  3. Select General and Privacy
  4. Select Accessibility
  5. Select Voice Guide Settings
  6. Select the radio button in Voice Guide Settings to turn Voice Guide on


To turn on an LG TV’s screen reader, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Settings (⚙) button on your LG remote
  2. Select All Settings from the menu
  3. Select General
  4. Scroll down and select Accessibility
  5. Select Audio Guidance
  6. Switch on “Enable the function”
