At 16, Will is the epitome of young, Black, and gifted. When a confrontation on a West Philly basketball court forces him out of town to live with his relatives in Bel-Air, he must adapt to the insular and rarefied world of privilege…while doing everything he can to stay true to himself. With the right guidance, Will is destined to reach his full potential.

Jabari Banks stars in the leading role of Will in BEL-AIR, a dramatic retelling of the 1990’s culture defining sitcom THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR. The Peacock series will detail Will’s complicated journey from West Philadelphia to Bel Air in modern-day America, diving deeper into emotions, conflicts and biases that were not as deeply explored in the original, while paying homage to the show’s roots. The series is based on cinematographer Morgan Cooper’s viral fan film trailer from 2019.
Banks resides in West Philadelphia, and graduated from the University of the Arts in 2021. Aside from acting, Jabari is a talented songwriter, singer, rapper and basketball player.
